Anejo`s Bistro and Bar in Gunnison

Really great Mexican food. I had their chile verde and asked for it to be spicy. Rarely do places live up to my expectations of spiciness, but I was sweating through the whole meal. I'm sure I will pay for it later, but totally worth it.Also, their tamales are amazing. Next time I am this way, I will definitely be visiting it again.

Pricey at $5.50 per steak taco ala carte but worth every single penny. Delicious and tender beef in homemade tortillas. Drooling just thinking about it!

The food here is amazing. The prices are a bit higher than you would expect. You can go across the street if you value price over happy taste buds.....although I would not recommend it.

Stopped at this place on our way back to Denver. Calling the food mediocre would be a stretch. The quality of the meat was poor (especially steak fajitas), beans tasted straight out of the can and the price for such simple food just doesn't make sense. We left most of our food. Service was slow and there is a strong smell of cleaning products in sitting area in the back

Lived in Gunni for years and this places is bomb!! Moved to Denver and have to come back frequently just to enjoy this place and other of our favorites. They make strong margaritas and awesome burritos. First date here lead me to my husband <3

The service is great, the food-very good. However, the prices are high for lunch.

Stopped in July, 2020 for a strawberry margarita and was served a strawberry freezy from 7 11. Alcohol must have been extra. Counter was to high, or, bar stools were to low and I witnessed a couple spill their margaritas because of the awkward bar height. I should have gone to the 7 11 for a strawberry freezy, I would have saved $15.00. I won't be back or recommend...

Small venue with big menu. Margarita kicked my b.. One cook took on the project and gave us the meals we wanted. Enchiladas were right side seasoned lightly. There was no hot sauce overload to bury the flavor. Wait staff was great.

After eating here many times, I have yet to be disappointed with the food, service, or margaritas. I'm from a big city, and Anejo's absolutely competes with what it means to be authentic and yet not overdone. I'll continue to bring my friends here!

This is the best Mexican food around. We live in Colorado, but we grew up in Texas. It is hard to find good Mexican food here that is authentic. Anejo's is the real thing. Yum. Service is great, too!

Mexican food starts with the chips and salsa. If they’re average or poor, you’re in trouble. These did not disappoint. We added guacamole and, while the wait seemed a bit long, again, we were not disappointed. Super fresh, simple, flavorful. And paired with a fresh lime margarita, we were in heaven. You only need one if you want to see straight. Great value for $9.My girlfriend and I shared the Chili Colorado. Rich, spicy (not too much) and so flavorful. We returned two more times on our 10 day trip having fish tacos and the fajitas, all top notch.Anejo made me miss the SF Bay Area and the great mexican food you can find there. They would easily rank among the best. That’s saying something for this little gem in the small town of Gunnison.In fairness, you might find the food a little pricey and the wait (for food) a little long. I say settle in, savor the company you’re with, and relish the deliciousness.

Most authentic mexican food in the state of Colorado! Equally delicious & lethal margaritas. Be sure to order the Queso (cheese dip)!

Wonderful and inspired menu. Everything is made from scratch, beans and sauces NOT from a can! Flavors are balanced. They don't over cheese or grease their food. It's a family favorite and our relatives make a point to eat at least one meal here every time they are in town.

Family owned and operated. Small and quaint with excellent Mexican fare!One of the best Jalisco Mexican restaurants I have had the privilege of visiting! My standard for comparison are the Chiile Relleno and tamale both of which were excellently prepared and severed .This establishment focuses on QUALITY and as such is by far an away the best Mexican restaurant in Guinnison and would surpass most restaurants I have visited in the Denver Metro Area. Highly recommended!

The food is great but I will only do take out after our experience with the service. Usually we get the waiter, and he is great, but last night we had the waitress and she was so incredibly rude we just ended up getting to-go boxes as soon as we received our food. When you kindly remind the waitress for more salsa 15 minutes after kindly asking for it the first time, she will give you a rude attitude and will be short with you the rest of the time. When you go out to dinner you want a pleasant experience with nice customer service.. not a horrible experience with rude and unkind service.

Shared the shrimp fajitas for late lunch for these 2 seniors. Asked for double beans (whole pintos) instead of rice. Excellent flavor on the shrimp fajitas! Best chips I have ever eaten and salsa was authentic and tasty!

By far one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Gunnison. Their margaritas are loaded and they have a ton of tequila options. I also love their white queso!

Amazing food and drinks!

Prices seemed a little high and service was a bit slow. There were several vegetarian options and food was decent but not outstanding.

It may take a while to be seated when they're busy, and it can seem a bit chaotic, but the food is amazing and authentic Mexican (not Tex-Mex) . Well worth the wait!

Food was great and prices were a little high but the atmosphere was good. Small place with few tables. But you can sit at the bar.

We found this place on our way back to Denver from Telluride. It's a little bit of a hole in the wall when you walk in, but the tacos did not disappoint! Closest I've come to genuine street tacos since Tijuana. Don't expect Americanized Mexican food - this stuff was legit. Highly recommend!

Absolutely phenomenal. I don't have enough nice things to say about this Mexican restaurant. I loved the staff. The cooks and servers made this an amazing experience. And the food!!! Love the food. Perfect price for the food. I actually think they should raise the prices. It is a must visit. Best in Gunnison.

My wife and I have been a little more than dissapointed with the Mexican food in Gunnison. We were absolutely blown away by the staff, quality of the food , the freshness, flavors, the overall options. Note for future reference the mexican restaurant across the street is one of the worst dining experiences of our lives.....just look for Yellow store front for the best dining experience Gunnison can offer.

What a good place to eat. And there margaritas are great!

Fantastic! We stopped in at this little place half way through a long drive and it was perfect. The margarita was excellent and they had a nice menu. It was pricier than mexican food generally in Colorado but it's not a large town and the food was definitely worth it. We were a large group and everyone loved there dinners!

Even though they had just gotten crushed by some big rush, Anejo was very kind, the drinks were delicious, and the chips were fresh. 5/5
